Oxidizing impurities react chemically with oxygen and produce gases, while reducing impurities react chemically with reducing agents and are converted to solid or liquid form. These reactions help improve copper purity.

Refining process: After smelting, the resulting copper liquid will be further refined. This usually involves two stages: continuous refining and static refining. Continuous refining uses electrolysis to remove residual impurities, while static refining further purifies the liquid copper through cooling and solidification processes.

Casting and products: Refined molten copper can be poured through casting equipment into billets, plates, rods or other shapes. These copper products can be used to make wires, cables, pipes, electronic equipment and other copper products.
