Overall Equipment Configuration and Processing Capacity

The system typically comprises a feed conveyor, a twin-shaft shredder or single-shaft pre-shredder, a hammer mill, a magnetic separator, an eddy current separator, and an air classification and dust extraction system. The standard processing capacity ranges from 500 to 2,000 kg/h and can be expanded in a modular fashion depending on the complexity of the feedstock. During the shredding stage, the material is first pre-processed to a size of 50–80 mm, followed by secondary crushing to a particle size of 10–20 mm. This provides a stable and uniform feedstock for subsequent sorting whilst reducing the metal encapsulation rate.

Sorting Process and Recovery Efficiency

In terms of the sorting process, the system achieves high recovery rates through multi-stage separation. Magnetic separation equipment prioritises the separation of ferrous metals, whilst eddy current separation effectively separates non-ferrous metals such as aluminium and copper from plastics. Air classification and density separation further optimise the grading of light and heavy materials. Actual operational data shows that, under standardised feed conditions, the combined recovery rate for copper and aluminium can reach over 95 per cent, whilst plastic purity remains stable at 90–93 per cent. Overall, this reduces secondary pollution and minimises reliance on manual sorting.
